How To Get Started Using Onlywire

First create an OnlyWire account.

Go to www.onlywire.com and click on Sign Up.

Choose the submission plan that fits your needs and fill in all the required information. CAREFULLY read over the Terms of Service, check the box to agree to the terms, and click Start OnlyWire.

This will bring you to the Start Page. You are now logged in and almost ready to begin using OnlyWire.

Click on “Download the Submitter” next to Step 1 on the Start page.

Click the “Download Now” button and choose Run from the application download window.

After installation is complete, restart your computer.

You will find the OnlyWire Submitter icon in your system tray at the bottom right hand side of the screen. If you have other items in the tray, they may be hidden. Right click on the icon to access the OnlyWire Submitter menu.

Right click on the OnlyWire icon in your Windows system tray at the bottom right corner of the screen. Select “Authorize Accounts”. Type in your OnlyWire username in the space provided and click the “Add” button. Make sure your OnlyWire username is in all lower case letters.

Next, go to the Services Page and fill in the login information for the services you wish to submit to.

* * OnlyWire does not automatically sign you up for the services you wish to submit to. You will need to go to each service and sign up for an account. We make this very easy for you to do. Simply click on the icon for the service you wish to sign up for, and you will be taken to where you enter the information needed create an account.

Once you have entered in the login information for each service you wish to submit to, click the “Save My Logins” button at the bottom of the screen. Your information will be saved and a Success Popup will appear. Click OK and you are ready to start submitting to your social bookmarking services.

To make your first submission, click on Post.

The Post Page allows you to enter in the information to make a submission or status update.

Title: Enter the title of your submission.
URL: Enter the full web address of your submission.
OnlyWire URL Shortener: Choose if you want to shorten your URL.
Notes: Enter the description of your submission.
Status: Enter your status update.
Tags: Enter the keywords to help people find your submission.
My Tags: Select from previous tags you have used.
Services to Post: Select what services you would like to submit to.
Category: Select what category you would like your submission listed under.

Status is a feature that allows you to post your current status to
sites like Facebook and Yahoo Pulse. Status is not a bookmark, it’s just
word phrases like “I am at work” and “I am on vacation”. Not all services
allow status updates. You can see what services allow status updates
when you go to the Advanced view of the Post Page. When making a status
update only fill in the status box. When making a bookmark submission
do not fill in the status box.

When you have filled in the information for your submission click the Post button. Your submission will be sent to the OnlyWire Submitter application for processing. Click the OK button in the Success Popup to continue.

Now you can go to your History Page and check the success of your submission. It will say “Waiting on Submitter” next to your submission until the OnlyWire Submitter is finished processing it.

After a submission is processed by the OnlyWire Submitter application, you will be able to see if your submission was successful.

If your submission fails, a description of why it failed will be listed next to it . Do not resend a submission if it has failed more than one time.

The History Page will automatically clear submissions over 60 days old.
