Are your OnlyWire submissions stuck in queue?

If your OnlyWire submissions are stuck in the queue, this means the OnlyWire Submitter tool is not processing your submissions. You can check your submission History by visiting the History page at: https://onlywire.com/history.

Here are a few common reasons why this is happening and how to easily fix it:

1. Antivirus Software

Your antivirus software may be blocking the Submitter from running. Please make sure the Submitter program is not on your block list for your antivirus software. It will be listed as a Java.exe program. Also, some antivirus software includes internet security. Please make sure the submitter program is not blocked from communicating on the internet.

2. Proxy Server

Onlywire does not work with proxy servers. If you are using a “Hide My IP” tool or some other type of proxy server, you will need to disable it and connect directly to the internet to use OnlyWire.

3. OnlyWire Submitter Is Not Running

OnlyWire users need to keep the OnlyWire Submitter running to process submissions. A simple rule of thumb is: “if it is not running, it is not processing submissions”.

If the Submitter is running and still not processing, this could mean you have not properly authorized your OnlyWire user names. Please make sure you have authorized all of your OnlyWire user name(s) in all lowercase letters.

4. Java Issue

Please make sure you are running the latest Java platform. If you get an error that you do not have the latest version of Java please contact Java support for assistance in upgrading: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/index.xml.

In any of the above cases, if the OnlyWire submitter tool is not able to communicate with OnlyWire – your submissions will be stuck in queue. Please remember, the OnlyWire Submitter has to communicate with our servers to process your submissions to the Service providers (Twitter, FB, LinkedIn, etc.).

Five Facebook Must-Dos for Entrepreneurs

Social media can be daunting, especially for small business owners strapped for time and manpower. However, leveraging your presence on Facebook can be a simple, effective way to generate buzz for your business without draining your marketing budget.

Lisa Anteau, senior vice president at Web.com, said small businesses are slowly realizing that having a presence both on and offline is a necessary measure for success.

Getting started on Facebook doesn’t have to take a ton of time. Here are Anteau’s five Facebook must-do’s for small business owners:

No. 1: Create a professional company page. Instead of having a personal page for your small business, Anteau said having a company page where people can become ‘Fans,’ of your business is more effective.

“It makes you stand out,” she said. “This way you have a ‘Welcome’ tab and people become your ‘Fans’ as opposed to ‘Friends.’ It’s about controlling the user experience.”

No. 2: Generate fans. The first 25 fans a professional page generates are key, Anteau said, because once you have 25 fans you are entitled to a vanity URL. This vanity Web address is essential for streamlined marketing, she said.

“This is much easier for a small business owner to use in marketing and conversations,” Anteau said. “Make sure you are linking your business Web site and company [Facebook] page, and that it is listed on all of your current customer touch points, invoices and newsletters.” Another way to generate fans is to network with other local small businesses that have a strong presence on Facebook, she said.

No. 3: Communicate with your fans. Generating fans is half the battle—but keeping them interested is what really matters. Remember that fans don’t want to be sold and marketed to at all times, Anteau said.

“They want to see different things like articles, information and access to discounts and exclusive offers,” she said. “They also want to be entertained.” Remind them why they were a ‘Fan’ of your small business in the first place.

No. 4: Leverage your social word-of-mouth. Facebook has made it very easy for users to share, recommend and comment on the things they like and loathe. Word-of-mouth has always been the backbone of small businesses, Anteau said, so keep that in mind and work your audience.

“Facebook questions is a great way to build content,” she said. “Also try out cause marketing—identifying a cause your business stands behind, ideally something that pertains to your business in some way.” Helping out a charity is a great way to start a viral presence and engage your fans.

No. 5: Stay involved. Small business owners are often short on time, but Facebook is something that shouldn’t fall by the wayside.

“It does require an investment of time, and it can’t be put on autopilot,” Anteau said. “Make sure you are monitoring your wall, responding to positive or negative feedback. People expect engagement and response on their part—you need to go in with open eyes.”

Building Links with OnlyWire

This article is all about creating content and using it to build links to your website. Content, meaning articles, videos, and even podcasts is now really the new advertising. That’s because people go to the internet to look for information, not look at advertising. So you need to create compelling content about your business, your industry in general and any topics connected to your entire field that people will want to read, listen to or watch.

You need to use content to attract people to come to a website. What you are going to want to do is to create interesting content, interesting articles, videos, or podcasts, about your product or service. Not about your company necessarily, but about topics of interest to people that are related to what you do.

For example, if I had an Italian restaurant, maybe I would write articles about different types of dishes. Making videos is even better. Make a video on how to make lasagna, how to make spaghetti and meatballs, or whatever. Interesting things that people will want to look at.

Every time somebody goes on the Internet, what are they doing? They are looking for information and they are looking for all kinds of information. You might think, “Oh, people aren’t going to be interested in what I’m doing,” but you’re wrong. There are billions of searches every month by millions of people and they are looking for all kinds of information. This is why you want to create as much content as you can about your business.

And after the content is created, you need to place it on as many sites as possible. YouTube, for example, is a site where you can place your content for free. There are also several dozen other sites just like YouTube where you can also place videos. And, there are dozens of sites where you can place articles and podcasts that you create too.
And it’s all free. So are many of the press release sites that you can find on the internet. There are literally dozens – many with high traffic – that allow you to place press releases on their sites and almost all of them allow you to place at least one a day if you want. And they almost all let you include links in the releases that go back to the website you’re trying to promote.
Now, in addition to placing content on other sites it’s also very important to place your content on your own site. Make sure you have a video player on your site as well as a blog. Once you’ve placed your content on your site then the best thing you can do is to build links to each of the pages where your content is. Of course, you also want to build links to each of your pages on your site.
The easiest way to do this is to use a software service called Onlywire (www.onlywire.com). There’s a free version (which is sufficient for most website owners), but there’s also a paid version for SEO people who have multiple clients. This article is going to cover the basics of link building. Why do we want to build links? First of all, what is a link? A link is a hyperlink, actually. You click on it and it brings you to another web page. I’m sure you’ve all clicked on links before. Well, what we want to do is build links from other sites back to our own site. Why do we want to do this? Google’s problem, as I see it, (and this is based on thousands of hours of research, reading articles and watching videos and listening to experts who know more than I do about this type of stuff) is that they can’t read content the way you or I do.

So what does this mean? It means that they have to rely on other factors to decide whose content is the most relevant for a particular keyword search phrase and whose content has the most authority.

Great content and links are the two things that most SEO people agree on as being the most important thing in terms of your page rank with Google, traffic you are going to get, and your search engine results. Showing up on the first page of Google search engine results is what we all want. This is what all these people agree on and is most important: content and links.

Here’s why links are important. They are part of the algorithm that Google uses and people think it’s an important part of the 200 different factors that are in the algorithm. Links is definitely one of them and as I said most people consider them to be quite important. The problem Google has is when it goes to your web page, let’s say your website is about organic dog food and you have content on there about organic dog food, then it goes to another site about organic dog food and brings all this information back into the database it has.

So it has all this text in there. The problem is that, at least for now since Google doesn’t appear to have any artificial intelligence programs working in their search engine robots (or whatever), for now they really can’t read this text like we do. They can look at it. They can see what words are there. They can make a judgment about the content of the page, based on what words it sees, but can it tell which content is better than other content? Not really. You got website A and website B: which one is better? Which one’s more relevant to the search? Which one has better content for organic dog food?

They really can’t make that decision, which is why they have an algorithm in the first place. If they knew which was the best content, if their robots could go into a site and read the sites and know which is the best content, then they wouldn’t need any other factors in the algorithm. They wouldn’t have to have an algorithm with 200 factors in it. They would know which is the best content and what site, or what page, should be pulled up when someone types in organic dog food.

So they have to rely on these other factors. Links are one of them. The more links you have coming into your site the higher Google will rank you. This is the prevailing thought among SEO people. Why is this? They (search engines) feel that if another site links to you it’s almost like a vote of confidence. They feel that this other site will link to you because if you have good content, then their readers can go and read your content also.

This is the basic theory. This is why you need more links and, importantly too, more links from good sources. You want to have links that come from highly ranked webpages with a high page rank. Some of the best sites to have link to your site are social media bookmarking sites and the easiest way to get links on these sites is to use a software tool that is called Onlywire (www.onlywire.com).

If you know anything about search engine optimization and online marketing then you know that having as many links going into your site from good sources is very important. And if you’re not really experienced at building links or SEO in general then you might not know the best way to get good links for your site. So please read on and I’ll present to you what I feel is the best way to get good quality links for your site.
There are many ways to get links for your site that will hurt your rankings with Google and the other search engines so let’s eliminate these first so that you don’t make any mistakes since you don’t want to get on Google’s bad side. First, don’t ever buy links from anywhere. Ever. This is a fast way to get a lot of links indexed by Google into your site and an even faster way for Google to penalize you. No matter what the companies say who are selling links, it is a big “no-no” so don’t do it.
Second, don’t use any of the article submission software or article spinning software that’s out there. None of it works and it won’t help you a bit. You’ll spend money and waste your time instead of doing things that can really help you. The companies that sell this junk claim that you can get thousands of links easily but remember one thing: there are no easy ways to get quality links. There are however, some ways that are easier than others and I’m going to show you one of them in this article.
Those are the two main traps people fall into when they are trying to build links so now that you know what you shouldn’t do let’s move on to what you should do. There are a number of ways that you can build links effectively but in this article I’m going to concentrate on how to use social bookmarking sites. I’m talking about social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious, Reddit, Stumbleupon and many others that are out there.
People can go to these sites, set up a free account, and then bookmark pages to their account on the site so that their friends, and anyone else, can see the pages that they’ve bookmarked. It’s just like bookmarking pages on your browser but with a social element to it. Depending on the site you can vote for pages that you think are cool – for example, on Digg you “dig” a page – and check out all kinds of interesting content that other people have found all over the Internet.
So what you want to do is bookmark the pages on your website with as many of these social bookmarking sites as possible. Now if you had to do all of this manually it would take some time but there is an alternative. I’ve used it for over a year now and built thousands of quality links to my site and my clients’ sites by using it.
